I plan on having SRS in the next few years but prior to my one year real life experience, i would like to remove all facial hair and have some facial feminization surgery to insure passability. I can't decide on the best way to remove my facial hair. i would prefer laser due to the speed of progress but i have light brown hair and very light skin. i have heard that laser is not very effective against lighter hair but i have also heard about intense pulse laser that may do the job. does anyone have any experience or advice they can offer me? Is it worth trying or should i just bite the bullet and endure the long and painfull process of electrolysis? BTW does anyone know of a plastic surgeon that does facial feminization that is closer to NC than Boston? please help.......... i need advice.

daniella,

I don't know if you've had laser treatment already, but if you're still trying to decide, maybe my experience will help.  I had a couple years worth of laser treatments for my face, and I was told that it would remove nearly all the hair.  It was very painful (I've done a few sessions of electrolysis and this was about as bad), and it was not really effective at all.  I have light skin and dark hair, so it should have worked very well.  I had this done at American Laser Center.

Maybe it is more effective on body hair (which annoys me more, since I don't plan to have SRS).
